The Head of the Rideau 2008 regatta is the 35th running of the ORC's annual fall regatta. The Head of the Rideau is a picturesque and exciting 5 km head race down the Rideau River from the Black Rapids locks to the Rideau Canoe Club clubhouse at Hog's Back and Mooney's Bay.

The event is on the OUA schedule every fall so there is a good entry from universities from Toronto and eastern Ontario, Quebec and on occasion from the northeastern U.S. schools as well.

There is also a complete schedule of races for junior, senior and masters competitors.

More details about this event and the regatta registration package will be posted shortly.

ORC Regattas

The ORC hosts several regattas in Ottawa starting in late April with the last event of the season in mid-October. They are:

Ottawa High School ERG Championships:
Race on the rowing machines against other schools in Eastern Ontario in late April.

National Capital High School Regatta:
A 2,000m race on the Ottawa River in late May and 1000m races between the Alexandra and Macdonald-Cartier bridges - perfect viewing from the club grounds.

Recreational and Development Regatta - July 19, 2008:
1,000m of racing fun on the Ottawa River between the Alexandra and Macdonald-Cartier bridges.

Head of the Rideau:
A beautiful September 5km head race on the Rideau River.
