ORC at the Rowing Canada AGM

A number of Ottawa Rowing Club members were recognized at the recent Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) Conference and AGM in Toronto, including a number of award winners at the Awards Banquet.

ORC President Lana Burpee represented the club and also attending were Head Coach Horacio Tendilla and ORC coaches Kate Gorsline and Greg Brown.
ORC Past President Mike Walker was also in attendance and was elected at the AGM to the RCA Executive for a four year term as RCA Vice-President, National Development. He has responsibility for recreational and competitive rowing programs and activities of a domestic but national nature.
2012 ORC Annual General Meeting - Feb. 29 - 7:00 pm

The Ottawa Rowing Club will hold its 144th Annual General Meeting onWednesday, 29 February, 2012 at 1900 hrs at the Aviation Museum. Registration will begin at 1830 and the meeting will begin at 1900, ending no later than 2130.

All members and interested parties are invited to attend. Persons entitled to vote at the AGM include those members 18 years and older, who are registered and in good standing in the following categories in 2010.

Members carrying proxies must bring with them a written and signed proxy declaration from the member they represent and declare them to the Registrar during the meeting registration to ensure they are counted in the roll call. Only voting members can carry a proxy and the form can be found here. Proxies can also be sent from a verifiable e-mail address to the President or Secretary.
The main items of business for this year's AGM includes:
officers reports, copies of which will be posted online before the meeting
approval of the financial statements for 2012 and the audited statements for 2011, review of the budget for 2012, approval of fees for 2012.
There will also be a briefing to members on the ORC 150 expansion project
In the interest of saving the environment, we will not be printing copies of documents for the meeting but they are available here.
