Canada Day Athlete Fund silent auction

The Ottawa Rowing Club invites members to the club to celebrate Canada Day and watch the fireworks.

This year we will be holding our 2nd annual Canada Day Silent Auction in support of the Ottawa Rowing Club's Athlete Fund. The Ottawa Rowing Club Athlete Fund was established in 2008 for the purpose of assisting Ottawa Rowing Club athletes’ rowing endeavors that help to promote the sport and the Ottawa Rowing Club at the provincial, national and international level.

Team selection for these competitions typically occurs very close to the event, giving athletes little time to raise money for foreign trips, when costs aren't covered by national sporting organizations.

By supporting ORC athletes who are pursuing rowing at the highest levels in the sport, we help raise the level of athlete aspirations at the club. Not only do these individuals stand as role models for our current members but they are our ambassdors. Their success solidifies the reputation of the Ottawa Rowing Club as a competitive club able to produce high performance athletes. Above all, supporting our athletes we show them how proud we are of their accomplishments.

To make the Canada Day Silent Auction a success, we need member donations. Please take a minute to look around your house or place of work and see if there is anything you can donate to the Auction. Every donation -- big or small -- is appreciated.
